Heart Screening Program
Using non-invasive, ultrasound technology, Life Line Screening offers the following for $139:
- Carotid Artery Screening – Visualizes the build-up of plaque in the carotid arteries, which may lead to stroke (most strokes are linked to carotid artery blockage).
- Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib) – A test to measure irregular heart beats; having A-fib increases your risk of stroke 5 times and may lead to congestive heart failure.
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Test – Looks for an enlargement in the abdominal aorta that could lead to a ruptured aortic artery. The majority of people who have had an aneurysm had no prior symptoms.
- Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) – Screens for peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in the lower-extremities; PAD is closely linked to coronary artery disease.
An Osteoporosis (bone thinning) Risk Assessment may be done for an additional $10.
Each screening requires about 10 minutes to complete.
You must pre-register by calling (800) 779-6353 or visit the Life Line Screening website (PRIORITY code HSC3034).
