About The Foundation

Good Samaritan describes who we are. The name reflects our commitment to caring, healing, and understanding.

Contributions from individuals have always played an important role for the Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH). Dayton area residents gave more than $1 million to build the hospital in 1928. Our current donors have that same passion. They are the foundation of Good Samaritan Hospital.

For more than 30 years, Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation - Dayton has sought support to help GSH keep its promise to meet the healthcare needs of Dayton area residents.

This support comes through donor programs such as:

The foundation obtains additional funds from local, regional, and national sources of philanthropy.

Each year, the Foundation distributes funds to:

  • Hospital programs
  • "Safety net" programs for the poor

  • Community programs and services.

Contributions help Good Sam deliver innovative, high-quality care. Care provided with clinical excellence and genuine compassion. GSH maintains this high quality with the help of a variety of funds set up by committed donors.

Donor programs are maintained by a dedicated Staff located in offices within the Hospital. Counsel and governance comes from the The Foundation Board of Trustees.
