Camp Samaritan Rejuvenates Cancer Patients

Camp Samaritan allows adult cancer patients and survivors to embark on a weekend of mental and physical escape.  Provided with similar entities that a child might imagine for a picture-perfect camping trip, these adults are given the opportunity to rest and refuel in the strength and company of one another. 

As a result of generous support from the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation - Dayton, the cost for the entire weekend is only five dollars per camper.  Each camper is encouraged to bring a support-buddy and is provided with comfortable housing that accommodates eight per room.

Realizing that each individual has his/her own personal desires for the weekend, the activities range from bonfires and canoeing to napping and talking.  While Camp Samaritan cannot erase the pain that its campers might be enduring, it is a powerful way for them to realize they are truly not alone.
