Good Samaritan Hospital Launches Women’s Center For Bladder & Pelvic Health

DAYTON, OHIO, December 17, 2009 – Good Samaritan Hospital is changing the way women manage their bladder and pelvic health issues with the launch of the Good Samaritan Hospital Women’s Center For Bladder & Pelvic Health.

The center is designed to help treat two common medical problems – lack of bladder control (urinary incontinence) and slippage of the bladder, uterus or rectum (pelvic organ prolapse). Three out of four women report some degree of urinary leakage and one out of three may experience pelvic organ prolapse, but many are hesitatant to seek help because of the embarrassing nature of the discussion with their healthcare provider.

“As common as bladder and pelvic conditions are, women often don’t talk about them –even to their doctors – until the situation is so serious they simply have no choice,” said Dr. William J. Rush of Lifestages—Samaritan Centers For Women, who is leading the new center at Good Samaritan Hospital. “Women don’t need to suffer in silence. We offer a supportive, professional and comfortable setting and will assist women to get the help they need.”

The Good Samaritan Hospital Women’s Center For Bladder & Pelvic Health offers:

  • Physicians, nurses and technicians with advanced training in women’s bladder and pelvic health;
  • A multidisciplinary approach including physical therapy and nutrition counseling;
  • The latest diagnostic technology; and
  • Multiple treatment options.

Women who are experiencing bladder control problems or pelvic discomfort, should call Lifestages—Samaritan Centers For Women at (937) 277-8988 for an appointment or speak to their physician for a referral to the Good Samaritan Hospital Women’s Center For Bladder & Pelvic Health.
