Meet the doctors who make up the Samaritan Hospitalists Group at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH).

Jeffrey W. Petry, MD, Family Medicine

PetryDr. Jeffrey W. Petry has served as the Medical Director of the Samaritan Hospitalists Group since 2007. Prior to this position, Dr. Petry worked in a private practice setting at Samaritan Family Care for 12 years and at Englewood Family Care for nine years.

Dr. Petry received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University in 1978 and his Medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in 1983.

Dr. Petry also has been on staff as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Wright State University School of Medicine since 1986.

Dr.  Susan Grandhi

GrandhiDr. Susan Grandhi graduated from Doctor B. R. Ambedkar Medical College Bangalore University in 1988. She did her residency in Internal Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Grandhi is board certified in Internal Medicine. She began her medical profession in the field of Hospital Medicine in 2004 with Hospitalist Management Group at Middletown Regional Hospital (Atrium). She joined Samaritan Hospitalist Group in August 2009.

Dr. Solomon Jan

JanDr. Solomon Jan graduated from Ross University School of Medicine, Brunswick, New Jersey in 2004.  He did his residency in Family Practice at Grant Family Medicine Program in Columbus, Ohio.  Dr. Jan is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has recently completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine.  His fellowship was at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.   Dr. Jan has also worked as a hospitalist at Mount Carmel Health Systems and joined Samaritan Hospitalist Group in July, 2009.

Sunila Paul, MD, Internal Medicine

PaulDr. Sunila Paul has been a part of the Samaritan Hospitalists Group since 2007.

Dr. Paul received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from Sri Siddhartha Medical College in India in 2001. She completed the Wright State University Internal Medicine Residency program in 2007 and is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Richa Redhu

RedhuDr. Richa Redhu graduated from Sardar Patel medical College, Rajasthan, India in 2002.  Dr. Redhu completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Wright State University School of Medicine in 2007.  She is board certified in Internal Medicine.  In April 2009, Dr. Redhu joined the Samaritan Hospitalist Group to practice hospital medicine.



Dr. Elissa Whittenburg

WhittenburgDr. Whittenburg graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1996.  She completed her Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at Wright State University where she also served as a chief resident.  She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.  From September 2000 through June 2005 Dr. Whittenburg owned a private practice in rural Texas.  She provided outpatient and inpatient care to both children and adults.  In July 2005 Dr. Whittenburg and her family returned to Ohio at which time she became a Hospitalist at Middletown Regional Hospital (now the Atrium).  From 2006-2008 she held the position of site director for the hospitalist program at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Ohio. During this time she assisted in the development of the hospital’s Rapid Response Team protocols.  She joined our practice in April 2008.
