Doctors With Hospital Expertise

The Samaritan Hospitalists Group is a team of 13 doctors and two nurse practitioners who work closely with patients and their families from admission to discharge. Hospitalists at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) serve patients in many ways, including:

• Discussing care and progress with patients and family members
• Visiting patients every day, or more often, if needed
• Communicating with the patients’ family doctors
• Coordinating care with specialists the patients may need
• Ordering and monitoring tests
• Scheduling follow-up post-discharge appointments with family doctors and specialists
• Notifying family doctors of patients’ discharges and providing a summary report of the stay
