Tri-County North Local Schools and Good Samaritan Hospital Announce Exclusive Athletic and Sports Medicine Sponsorship
Dayton and Lewisburg, Ohio – March 18, 2008-- Good Samaritan Hospital and the Board of Education of the Tri-County North Local Schools approved a 10-year agreement in which Tri-County North students, faculty and staff will gain improved access to health care services.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tri-County North Local Schools will receive athletic training and sports medicine services from the Good Samaritan Hospital Sports Medicine program, which is located at the Good Samaritan North Health Center, as well as funds to support its athletic programs and health and nutrition education. This will be in exchange for naming rights at the school’s athletic field, which will be called Good Samaritan Field, and other cooperative marketing programs.
The sponsorship agreement, valued at $630,000, over a 10-year period, will allow the school district to focus other funding on various academic and athletic programs. Sponsorship dollars will be used to make much-needed updates to facilities to ensure students are given a safe and effective environment for their athletic activities. Updates include a new electronic message center to be placed in front of the school to inform the community of upcoming athletic contests and other school related events.
Tri-County North Local Schools Superintendent Bill Derringer said, “Tri-County North Local Schools is excited to be partnering with Good Samaritan to enhance not only our sports programs, but the well-being of our school and community. Our students, faculty and staff look forward to the collaboration on health education and services that this agreement will bring.”
“Good Samaritan’s mission is to build healthier communities by partnering with others that share the same commitment to health and well-being,” said Jim Pancoast, president and CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital. “By working with schools such as Tri-County North, we are encouraging young adults to adopt more active lifestyles and make healthier choices. These are habits that they will take and use throughout their lives.”
Good Samaritan Hospital and its premier outpatient facility, Good Samaritan North Health Center, are local resources to the Tri-County North Local Schools and community. Good Samaritan North is one of the nation’s largest freestanding health centers and provides services in sports medicine, outpatient surgery, breast and cancer care, cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic and imaging services, and more.
