As part of this service, we offer physical therapy to program participants, including a specially developed Saturday morning “bump and bruise” clinic during football season.
Sports Bracing and Orthotics
We offer a full line of orthopedic braces. Our staff will evaluate each patient’s needs and select a product that fits both their lifestyle and their needs.
Physician Services
Sports medicine practitioners—available by appointment—provide injury evaluation, pre-participation sports physicals, and other sports health services.
Educational Programs
GSH Sports Medicine Center sponsors a variety of seminars and workshops, both in its facility and off-site, because we believe that sports medicine begins with education about injury prevention.
GSH Sports Medicine Center is approved by the Ohio State Department of Education to provide the required four-hour Pupil Activity Validation Program for students and coaches. Other programs we offer include:
- A week-long summer workshop teaching high school students athletic training skills
- Annual continuing education programs for athletic trainers, physical therapists, and physicians
- Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for students and coaches
GSH Sports Medicine Center professionals also speak to civic, community, and sports groups on a wide variety of sports medicine and health and wellness topics.
Samaritan North Athletic Performance Program
The Samaritan North Athletic Performance Program (SNAPP) is an individualized, sport-specific six-week program (with additional pre-program evaluation and post-program testing) designed to increase an athlete’s speed, power, acceleration, agility, strength, and flexibility. Knowledgeable and experienced exercise physiologists and certified athletic trainers work with participants in our facility during 18 one-hour sessions. SNAPP helps athletes realize increased skill, strength, stamina, and self-confidence, no matter what sport they play.
SportsmetricsTM
The SportsmetricsTM program is designed specifically for female athletes. It teaches safe jumping and landing skills to prevent ACL injuries.
Sports Motion
For our Sports Motion program, we videotape and analyze the key movements that relate to the client’s sports activities and then develop a corrective course of action.
