The Speech-Language Pathologists at Good Samaritan Hospital assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent disorders related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency.
Speech therapists work with the patient and physician to identify the most important factors in recovery. Good Samaritan Hospital strives for total support through education, counseling, and continuous encouragement to help the patient progress toward recovery.
Evaluation and Treatment Plans
Each patient is assessed, and a plan of care is developed in collaboration with the patient and his or her family. Speech therapy evaluation and treatment programs assist patients with the following conditions and diseases:

- Cognitive therapy
- Hearing screening
- Electrical stimulation for swallowing impairments
- Modified barium swallow studies
- Speech/language therapy
- Swallow therapy
